What's Up?

So the past few days I haven't been able to get on blogger from my phone (which is how I post my stories) :( I've been sending posts to blogger, but I couldn't get on to post them...until today!

Next week is Lizzy's birthday. She got a card in the mail a few days ago from Jody's Granny (his dads mom), she was so excited to get mail, especially from her Granny :)

We went the other day and Lizzy picked out something for her birthday with the money Granny sent her. She was so proud of her choices, Super Why and Word World,2 of her favorite shows :)

Emma got her fist teeth at 4 months (just like Jack), then she got a whole bunch more all at once...I guess that's why she's lost so many teeth in such a short time! She's lost more teeth than any 6 year old I know :)

NINE YEARS

Today Jody and I celebrate NINE years of marriage!!!

I thought it would be fun to share NINE fun facts surrounding our wedding story...

1. We dated for 11 months before getting engaged and were engaged for 6 months and 1 week before getting married!

2. Jody went sky diving the day before our wedding (we have video to prove it :)

3. Both Jody & I were late to the rehearsal dinner...there were bad storms that afternoon, local roads were cosed and we had to take detours...the good thing was that a large part of the wedding party was also late :)

4. There were 19 people in our wedding party...Jody & I, 2-flower girls, 1-ring-bearer, 5-bridesmaids, 5-groomsmen and 4-ushers.

5. We only had “live” music at our wedding. We were very blessed to have many talented friends who played guitar, piano and sang :)

6. Jody was 19 when we got married, I was 20 (I'm older than him by a mere 7 months :)

7. We couldn't check in on our honeymoon because we weren't old enough to rent a hotel room (we ended up having to call my parents and they had to talk to the hotel manager)!

8. We completely forgot about our wedding programs until our wedding coordinator asked us about them at the rehearsal dinner!!! We had both thought the other had taken care of it...whoops! We ended up going to Kinkos after the rehearsal dinner and printing them off :)

9. Jody had hair?!?!

We can't wait to see what the next NINE years will bring us :)

2 must-haves for back to school...

I'm all about saving time, especially in the mornings trying to get Emma's lunch made, the kiddos fed, changed and in the car for carpool!!! I use 2 items almost daily...one is the Cut-N-Seal and the other is the Apple Wedger...

Both of these make my life easier and save me time too :)

Saturday we went to a 3rd birthday party for Miley!

The girls had so much fun decorating their wands and crowns :) The cake was fabulous and so yummy, great job Mrs. Corey!!!

Triple Coupons?!

I went grocery shopping yesterday, my usual shopping day at my usual place...I walked in the door groceries in tow having saved money using coupons, happy about my trip, until I saw the advertisement for Harris Teeter's triple coupons on TV!!! I was so excited until I remembered I had just used a bunch of my coupons :( Anyway, I went today to get in on the triple coupon deal....I paid $20.28 and SAVED $22.36! I love saving more than I spend! Now I am a newbie at this triple coupon thing, many of my friends save so much more money each week with their double coupons, nevermind the triple coupons this week! One friend spent $15 and would have spent $50 without coupons!!! I have to say clipping coupons was not my favorite thing to do until recently when I started seeing the price go down just by watching what's on sale combined with coupons! It only takes a little while to cut and sort them and you can save ALL kinds of money, who doesn't like to save money?! If you don't use coupons, I challenge you to try it for a month, 4 sunday papers (that's where you'll find the coupons) and see how much money you will save!!!



So, all you triple (or double) coupon gals, can you give me some more tips on saving more $$$

Building with Papa

I forgot this post...

A few months ago Emma helped my Dad build a gate for our backyard. She was determined to nail the nails and stretch the fence to get it just right!

Sarah, Sarah how does your garden grow?

Not very well I'm sad to say...until just recently!!! My dad helped me start a garden....he planted starter plants and my job is to keep them alive! I did not inherit my gardening skills from either of my parents whose yard and garden look AWESOME with tons of flowers, floweriing plants, fruits and veggies! I finally after a few months have fruits & veggies starting to grow! Here is a picture of my garden of pots of cucumbers, tomatoes, rosemary, sage, basil and peppers!

Ashtyn turned ONE

We went to my niece Ashtyn's 1st Birthday Party Saturday! I made a slideshow and posted it to Facebook, but can't get it to post on our blog! I'll try again today...

Update on stay tuned...

I mentioned a few days ago about Emma and our family adjusting to her being in public school instead of homeschooling, then said stay tuned....Emma remembered her carpool number and gave her school supplies to her teacher :) Way to go Emma!!!

She has also been selected as the Media Assistant for her class which she has no idea what that means or what she's supposed to do as the "Media Assistant"?!

She had an open house last week where we were able to meet some more school staff, some of her classmates and their parents! Jody and I were able to find out a lot more about Emma's school day too....she actually has 30 minutes to eat lunch instead of 6....there are not 6 Jacksons in her class, only 2....she has 27 kids in her class instead of 10!!!

Next week we get to see what this "Media Assistant" will be and she has school pictures?!

Friday night the burb hit another milestone...

Not too sleepy girl...

So, I don't know about other moms, but before I can go to sleep at night I have to make my rounds to make sure all our kiddos are sleeping, not too hot or cold, and basically "breathing"...I know paranoia. Anyway, I went to check on Emma & Anna (they share a room) and this is what I found...

Anna snuck out of her room to where we keep our coloring crayons & coloring books and decided to color in her bed instead of going to sleep in her bed, she fell asleep mid-color :)

Ashtyn Reese Goodew

Today is my one and only niece's (my brother Matt's daughter) FIRST BIRTHDAY :) Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet and adorable Ashtyn Reese!!!

Newbies

So, we're all figuring out this school thing...Emma went to school Friday (her first day)and loved it! She brought home her school supply list Friday too. When I arrived in the carpool line to pick her up, I had to wait for 3 rounds (6 cars per round) of carpool before Emma came out...she forgot her carpool number! Over the weekend, the supplies were bought, put in Emma's bag and ready to go for Monday! When we got home Monday, to my surprise all of Emma's new school supplies were still in her bookbag! She said she forgot to tell her teacher they were there! Tuesday came...we made sure Emma knew her carpool number and I made a point to tell her numerous times to tell her teacher her supplies were in her bag! Well you guessed it, I had to wait yet again in the carpool line...the carpool ladies are becoming quite familiar with us :) The school supplies were still in her bag too :( The plan for Wednesday is a note in hand about the school supplies and her carpool number written on her hand (she asked if we could write it on her hand)! You'll have to stay tuned to see if Emma remembers her carpool number and/or her school supplies :)

Anna's New Do

Anna has needed a haircut for some time! She has really baby fine, straight hair and it looks so much cuter when it's short. She finally let me trim it up the other day.

She always loves it afterward and can't help but pose for the camera :)

7 months...

Jack is 7 months today :) This month he got one of his top front teeth, the other one will probably break through tonight! He is so active...if you've ever changed his diaper you know what I'm talking about! He rolls and scoots (on his) back to wherever he wants to go! Cousin Ashtyn gave us her "extra" jumperoo a week or so ago and that has become his absolute new favorite toy, he jumps, bounces and wiggles all the while grinning :)<(

Whole bunch of firsts :)

Yesterday our FIRST born started her FIRST day of FIRST grade! It was also her FIRST day going to public school...we decided last year we would take one year at a time, last year she was homeschooled for Kindergarten... It was a really hard decision but we decided this year she would go to Brassfield Elementary School! We feel this is the best decision for Emma as well as our family :)

She was so excited and could have cared less about Jody and I when we left, she barely said "bye"!
