Dedicated

This past Sunday Jack was dedicated at our church! The "promised son" was so cute in his white polo shirt, brown striped pants and little Converse shoes. Family and friends came to witness Jody and I dedicate, committ to raise Jack in a God-honoring way, just like we did his older sisters! A very important committment we made before our church, family and friends and most importantly before God. Jody's dad, step-mom, brother and Granny came in from Tennessee, Jody's mom, my parents, my aunt, sister-in-law and niece all came too!!! Here are a few pictures of the occasion...thanks to everyone who sent us pictures!!!

The Magic Pot

I know you're saying what's so magical about a pot? And this specific pot for that matter? Well, when The Pampered Chef created the Deep Covered Baker it was designed to be used in the oven to prepare lots of dishes, but someone realized it works phenomenally in the microwave as well! I know what you are thinking...But NO!!! I use my "magic pot" at least once a week for a variety of dishes (even desserts) to feed our family. It has worked so well lately for me because I don't have to turn on the oven to prepare my family a hot meal and it's been SWELRTERING here in NC!!!

Another great thing is most of the meals I have been preparing have been $2 per serving or less!!! Just today I cooked a whole chicken in just 30 minutes in the microwave for a total cost of $3.19 and it fed our family of 5 (Jack doesn't eat real food yet), I just added a salad with some homemade dressing and voila!!!

Last week I created a pasta chicken dinner in under 29 minutes in ONE pot in the microwave using garden fresh ingredients! Who wouldn't want to save time, energy and money?!

Homemade

Milk shakes....yum-yum!!! Jody made us homemade hand-spun strawberry milk shakes a few nights ago! We had been strawberry picking a few weeks ago and picked over 10 pounds of yummy strawberries! I ended up freezing a lot of them so they wouldn't go bad and what a perfect use for them!!! Anna and Lizzy wanted ice cream cones instead of the milk shakes ...crazy kids!!!

Today is my oldest younger brothers' birthday...woah that's a mouthful! My brother Matthew David Goodew turns 28 today, we are only 16 months apart and were often mistaken for twins growing up...I was "petite" and he was a rollie pollie!!! Here he is pictured with his wife Diana at my mom's 50th birthday party earlier this month!!! Happy Birthday Little Brother, we love you!!!

Bubble Fun

What to do on a dreary rainy day...play with Bubbles!!! My uncle PJ bought the girls battery operated bubble guns, what a great invention! The girls love them and we can sit outside on our front porch even in the worst rainstorm and still enjoy the outdoors!!!

Graduation 2009

It's that time again...graduation!!! This year we had 6 students from our church graduating from high school!!! Unfortunately we were in Tennessee a few weeks ago for 2 of the ceremonies and last weekend we were sick with a stomach virus and we missed another one :( But this weekend the kiddos and I had the privilege of attending my cousin Ryne's high school graduation...an awesome opportunity at such a pivotal time as they begin the next chapter of their lives! It was a great graduation ceremony and our cousin Kristi even flew in from Minnesota!!! Congratulations to all the 2009 Graduates!!!

Friday was National Donut Day! We took the kiddos downtown to Krispy Kreme and enjoyed our FREE donuts!!!

We're back

I have figured out how to update the blog from my phone!!! I can't believe it's taken me so long to figure it out??? Next I have to figure out how to add pictures...hmmm

UPDATE

Ok, what is up with the Livingstons??? Well, most of you know we moved to a house right down the street from our church near the end of April...We have had a time with transferring internet to our new house...we haven't had it at our house for close to 6 weeks! Both Jody and I have internet on our cell phones, but I am unable to blog from my phone :-( As I am writing I am sitting in the Chick-fil-a parking lot using their free internet! Hopefully we will soon have internet again at the house and I'll be able to blog again!

We've had a lot going on...today Jack is 5 months old!!! Where has the time gone? He started rolling over a few days before 4 months and within a few days of that 2 teeth popped up! He is such a god boy...we love him so much and the girls adore their baby brother!

Unfortunately Jody lost both his maternal grandparents these past few weeks...within 19 days of each other. We are very sad not to see them again, but know we will be reunited with them one day!

That's all the time I have for now...I'll get back on here soon...until then don't fret, we'll be back soon!!!
