Guitar Hero
Nope we don't have a wii, but picture this....Anna and Lizzy were arguing about something (surprise) and it escalated...
Anna-"It is not!"
Lizzy-"YES, IT IS" (with a furrowed brow, eyes wide, teeth gritting)...."I'm gonna hit you!"...running full speed at Anna just as I noticed the Hannah Montana guitar being reared back....I caught it about 2 inches from slamming into Anna's head...now that's a Guitar Hero!!!
No pics, I had to save Anna!!!
(We do not condone this behavior and both Anna & Lizzy were punished for this incident)

Something New for #4...
I have recently decided to try cloth diapers! I know many of you are thinking I've gone off the deep end...but I will assure you I have not!!! I used to think cloth diapers were that triangular cloth (I use them as burp cloths) and you had to use pins and "rubber covers", like my mom had to use with my youngest brother...boy have they come a long way! I am in no way trying to convince anyone that they MUST use cloth diapers, I decided to blog and share my experience to help inform others!!! I waited to post about them until I had used them myself for a while, we are on week 4 of using them and I love them!!!
Let me give you a breakdown of the diapers I have chosen to use.
Bum Genius 3.0 one size all in one. It looks like a disposable diaper, with velcro tabs. I chose the one size diaper which fits most babies from 7-35lbs. How do they do that? There are snaps on the front that allow you to adjust the size. I was extremely skeptical about this and actually put them on Lizzy (she's 29lbs vs Jack at 11lbs) for a few days to see how she did and they worked great! The outside material is waterproof so you don't have to worry about leaks or a "rubber cover". They come with super absorbant inserts that come out during washing so you don't have to touch it dirty. The inside of the diaper, the part that touches the baby, is a super soft fleece.
Cost. The cost is definitely up front when it comes to cloth diapers. But the average baby requires 6-8 diaper changes per day, 7 times on average. I usually buy the Luvs diapers for both Lizzy & Jack, which cost around $8 for a package of 58 (size 1) or 30 (size 5), breakdown $.14 (Jack) or $.26 (Lizzy) per diaper. Basically 18 days worth of disposable diapers for Jack (size 1) or 13 days for Lizzy (size 5) equals the cost of 1 Bum Genius 3.0 cloth diaper. Now there are many different options for cloth diapers, so the cost can vary. The Bum Genius was recommended to me by several cloth diapering moms because they are easy to use and the most like disposable diapers. Since we received funds from family members in honor of Jack's birth, we were able to purchase 6 diapers up front (I also received a discount for purchasing them in a 6 pack) for me to try out and recently 4 more (also a discount for purchasing multiples). The diapers I chose I will use from birth until he is potty trained which will end up saving us a ton of money in diapers!
Washing. Washing cloth diapers is diaper specific. My diapers are to be washed in hot water then cold water and a second rinse, using detergent free of colors and dyes, which they recommend for newborns anyway. My kids and I have sensitive skin so I have to use these detergents on a regular basis, I haven't had to buy any special detergents. I wait until Jack goes through all his cloth diapers to wash them and sometimes I'll wash my whites at the same time. I put him in a disposable diaper while the cloths are washing (I received many disposable diapers as gifts too). You simply throw them in the dryer at medium heat until they are dry and re-stuff the insert before use! I have not seen a dramatic increase in my laundry since using them either.
Ease. Since they look similar to disposables they are very easy to use. Many of you are thinking what do I do with the dirty diapers, isn't it more of a hastle than to just throw them in the trash? Always when they poop you will have to dump in the potty, since I breastfeed I haven't yet had to dump, consistency is all I'll say. You wrap them up like disposables then I throw them in a diaper pail, when the pail is full I wash them. They make pails specifically for cloth diaper use with charcoal for the odor. I have a special bag with compartments that came with a diaper bag that I put the dirty diapers in while I'm out until I get home. Less trash too!
Cloth diapers aren't for everyone so do your research and ask other cloth diapering moms for their advice and decide for yourself!

Speedy
Emma finally learned how to ride a bike without training wheels! Jody and I have tried teaching her before but she didn't want our help! She said she was scared that we would push her too fast and she would fall...so she taught herself! She was determined to ride that bike...stayed outside all afternoon, only to come in to go potty, eat or to put on more band-aids (she has scrapes all over her legs)! Eventually she came in yelling "Mom I learned how to ride my bike!" She was so excited! After only one day she was speeding all around the driveway, weaving in and out of all the "traffic" of her sisters on their bikes! Such a big girl now!!!

Potty Fun!
Lizzy went poopy on the potty! Not the greatest thing to talk about, but she finally did it! We've tried bribing her with everything, read books, watched dvd's, bought her panties that she picked out, charts, special stickers and even candy! That day I bribed her with ice cream and it worked!!!
Don't get too excited, to date she's only went pee-pee once and pooped once on the potty...but it's a start!!!

Repeat?
Friday Lizzy and I spent the afternoon at her pediatrician and wake radiology...she had hurt her arm early that afternoon, Jody had a hold of her hand, she tried to pull away and ended up falling on the ground. She was very upset and wouldn't use her arm, so I called right away and got her in. Aunt Diana came and met me at the pediatrician's office to watch the other kiddos, little did I know she would end up in the car with 4 kids (3 of mine and my niece) for 2.5 hours!!! The pediatrician thought it might be a fractured wrist, so she sent us to wake radiology for x-rays. Lizzy was ok in the waiting room, she was really hurt, because all she wanted to do was sit on my lap and put her head down, her arm was limp and she was holding it with her other hand. It took 2 nurses and I to hold her arm still to take the x-rays, if you touched her arm she would say "no, don't touch, it hurts", and for the x-rays we had to rotate it...she was screaming, poor thing:-( But after the x-rays were taken her mood changed and she seemed fine about 10 minutes later! Jody and I think she actually had nursemaids elbow like Anna had....and when we had to rotate her arm for the x-ray, we popped it back in place, that's also why nothing came up in the x-ray.
I ask her every morning how her arm is and she says fine and shows me she can move it again...let's hope this isn't a repeat of Anna!!!

2 months already!!!
He absolutely loves his swing and would probably stay in it almost all day if I put him there!
He has really started looking at his toys on his bouncy seat and swing too! He loves to snuggle
and has really started smiling a lot more and "talking".
His most favorite thing is bath time...almost always falls asleep after kicking around, smiling and talking!

His most favorite thing is bath time...almost always falls asleep after kicking around, smiling and talking!
His least favorite thing is a wet or dirty diaper! He is the worst, gets so upset even after a little bit of pee-pee and you immediately know when he dirties a diaper, sorry nursery workers!
The past few nights (3 to be exact) he's slept a lot better, 6 hours straight!!! It may be that we are home, we were gone 7 days in Tennessee, glad to be in his own bed I guess?! We love this little guy and are so proud of our baby boy!!!
