WELCOME to our blog! Our family began in August of 2000 when Jody and I were married and has grown into a family of 6! We have 3 beautiful daughters and 1 handsome son! This blog was created in January of 2006 for our family and friends and to serve as a scrapbook for our kiddos in the years to come! Jody is the youth minister at our church and I am a stay at home mom! Here you will find stories and pictures from Living Life Livingston Style...we love to hear your comments too, more motivation for blogging :)

We had a chance to go to a Carolina Muscats game one night this week! The girls had so much fun, they had been before but were too small to really understand. Anna kept asking what those football players were doing and when we were going to leave the football game, Lizzy was intrigued by the whole idea of someone trying to hit a ball with a bat then running around and Emma just liked the game all around.

My dad was able to get us the tickets (for FREE) which included a baseball hat, dinner (2 hotdogs and chips), pop/water and an ice cream!!! Did I mention the ticket also paid for our parking?! We didn't have to spend any money at the park, just the gas to get there! We had fun watching the game and hanging out with "Papa"...thanks again Dad :)

What in the world?

I almost forgot...

This pile of panties belongs to Lizzy!!! And she actually uses them everyday :) Last Tuesday (a week ago) she woke up and told me she wanted to wear panties ALL day...she did and didn't have a single accident! In fact she's only had a few accidents since then, mainly because she can't hold it for very long :( We tried training her when she turned 2, because she was showing signs, but clearly she wasn't ready :( We did the same thing with Emma and it didn't work either...with all my kids (no matter how frustrating) had to let them do it when they decided themselves. They told us they wanted to wear panties and quit diapers/pull ups cold turkey (wearing panties only, even at night and nap times), we haven't gone back since! The best part is that they tell us when they have to potty instead of us asking/taking them every 30 minutes! We are so proud of our Lizzy Maye :)
3 down 1 to go...we've got some time for Jack though!!!

We Love The Braswells

Our best buds Ed & Jessica (and their two daughters) recently moved from Florida back to North Carolina (Lowell)! We've been wanting to go see them for a while now and it finally worked out! We left late Monday afternoon and got home late Tuesday!

We had so much fun with them, all 5 girls got along so well and Jack just had fun rolling around! Thanks Braswell Family for opening your home and letting us come!!!

Pizza Fun

We love to make homemade pizzas in our house! This day we made pepperoni for the girls and tomato basil for us using fresh basil from my Garden and fresh garlic :) I thought it would be fun to show you the steps we took...so quick, easy, fun and pretty cheap too :)

Which would you choose?

If you were Jake, our 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, which house would you choose?

Since our move a few months ago, Jake had to become an outside dog. We already had a fenced in yard at our previous house(we just moved the fence to our new house), but he didn't have any shelter from the elements, which meant we had to buy him a doghouse (before he was mainly an inside dog, slept inside in his crate). After doing some checking and looking around at various places, we decided on the doghouse above which specifically said it was designed for breeds such as : Border Collie, Australian Shepherd and other cattle herding dogs. We thought perfect! We bought it, took it home, put it together and showed Jake his new "home"...but to our surprise he prefers the girls playhouse instead :( Maybe one day he'll "prefer" the doghouse designed for him...but until then at least he has two forms of shelter from the elements!!!

Slide Fun

Thursday night the girls spent the night at Papa & Wanka's house. They usually take turns one at a time, but this time my parents volunteered to take all 3 at once!!!

Here they are on the Big Blow-up Slide in their front yard, unfortunately it was not big enough to hold us big kids :(

Error, Error :)

I just realized my posts from Wednesday, Thursday and today were saved as drafts and not posted :( Now there's more to see all in one day :)

Attack of the Vegetable Beef...

Jack really enjoyed his "vegetable beef" today. He is such a messy eater, as long as most of the food gets in his mouth, he's happy. He wasn't happy with me in the picture because he was all done with the food and READY for his bottle next :)

For some reason...

I couldn't add these picture to my previous post :(

Uncle Matt's House

Today we headed to my brother Matt's house...Jody needed a flat surface (and muscles) to fix a problem with our gas tank/fuel pump. The kiddos and I stayed inside and played with all Ashtyn's (my adorable niece) toys...

the kiddos had so much fun playing with all the "new" toys...shhh don't tell them that the ball pit was actually theirs that we gave to Ashtyn!!! Jack had so much fun in Ashtyn's jumperoo :) He could not stop kicking his little legs and bouncing! Looks like we may need to purchase a jumperoo for Jack!!!

Back to Black

She wanted her hair to be "Black"...lately we often find her in the bathroom wetting a brush and slicking her hair back...who knew she just wanted to change her hair color back to what it was at birth?!

Hang Up

Dryer, Dryer...why have you (once again) forsaken me? You and your silly (and hard to find) parts break with no warning and at the worst times!!!

Yes this is a picture of my kitchen! My dryer broke (a belt came off) as Jody was leaving for work today, which meant I either hung up the laundry I was doing or let it sit there until Jody was able to get to "the dryer parts store" to get a new belt :( I am now (yet again) thankful for the person who invented the electric dryer and the opportunity to have had use of one for many years now!!! So sorry for our many missionary friends who have to dry their laundry by use of a clothes line or other clothes drying device, I have a new found appreciation for you :)

Dreary Day

Yesterday was a rainy dreary day, so we decided to go to the museums! North Carolina, Raleigh, has some great museums that so many people do not take advantage of! The admission is free and they do change some of the exhibits often. Our kiddos have been a few times to the Natural Science Museum so we decided to go to the History Museum. Emma was fascinated with the exhibits about the wars and soldiers and Anna & Lizzy liked the boats! We used this opportunity not only as something to do on a rainy day, but as learning!!! I only snapped one picture, the lighting is really dark, in front of a replica of an old drug store in downtown Raleigh. If you have a chance, check out some NC Museums!!!

Beach

We finally were able to get to the beach!!! After 3 weeks of CRAZY we decided we needed a break! It was too expensive for us to stay the night so we made. a day trip out of it and headed down Saturday morning! We didn't tell the girls until we woke them up and they were so excited!!! My parents decided to join us too. I of course forgot my camera but snapped a few pictures with my phone. Maybe next time we'll be able to stay longer and enjoy the beach even more :)

Ballerinas or Gymnasts?

The girls love to play dress up, what little girl doesn't? They were re-playing the olympic games on TV the other day and the girls were amazed at the gymnasts, they ran to their dress up bins and emerged with these lovely gymnast costumes on...they looked more like ballerinas to me, but who's to say their imagination is wrong!!!

It's been so HOT lately...what better way to cool off than a swimming pool!!! We don't have a membership anywhere so we purchased a small "blow up" pool on sale at Target for the kiddos! They love it, it keeps them entertained, cooled off and tires them out! Here's a picture Jody snapped yesterday of the girls :)
