WELCOME to our blog! Our family began in August of 2000 when Jody and I were married and has grown into a family of 6! We have 3 beautiful daughters and 1 handsome son! This blog was created in January of 2006 for our family and friends and to serve as a scrapbook for our kiddos in the years to come! Jody is the youth minister at our church and I am a stay at home mom! Here you will find stories and pictures from Living Life Livingston Style...we love to hear your comments too, more motivation for blogging :)

A note to the tooth fairy...

Emma lost another tooth, this time a front tooth at church last night! She was super excited! Jody accidentally "left" the tooth at church. I put it in a baggie and he threw it away, we didn't realize until we had gotten home and it was too late. So Emma wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining what had happened...

in case you can't read what the note says, it reads...
I lost a tooth my dad left it at church
From: Emma To: ?
(because we don't know the tooth fairy's name)!

Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here. He is risen!

What a powerful statement that we often take in stride...He triumphed over death!!!

We had a
fantastic Easter Sunday. Jody went to the sunrise service...I haven't been in a few years, but may attempt next year when Jack is a little older! We had an awesome 11 am service, just singing the old hyms and the magnitude of what we celebrate on Resurrection Sunday hit me like a ton of bricks! How often we take the fact that Jesus took upon ALL (everyone's) sin, was crucified and killed, then 3 days later rose from the dead, just as He promised, all for US?! WOW, what a loving and powerful Savior we have!

We were so happy to have my dad, brother Matt, his wife Diana and my niece Ashtyn come celebrate Easter with us at our church! My mom had to work this weekend and the kiddos sure missed their Wanka!!!

Livingston kiddos in front of the church after Easter Service...

My parents bought the grand-girls their Easter dresses...
(we had to snap a picture of them all together!)

along with Jack's outfit to go along with our red & white theme...
(he was asleep when we took the ladies in white picture)

After church we headed to my Uncle & Aunt's house is Louisburg to have Easter Dinner with my dad's family! Here are my grandparents, with the kiddos and I...

The girls had an easter egg hunt too...there was a smal glitch when the goats started eating all the loot though!!! Yummy food and lots of fun with family!!!

Church Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt! The girls of course had so much fun!!!

The eggs have air! The favored way to "hide" the eggs for the little guys!!!

Here are our kiddos...

Papa came to help the girls hunt eggs too...Wanka had to work, but we sure missed her!!!
Even our pastor got in on the fun...

Fun with Friends

A friend offered to watch our kiddos (yes all 3 in addition to her own!) so I could pack earlier this week...they had a blast and fell asleep on the way home. When we got home they ate dinner and went straight to bed, they were wore out!!!
I was able to get some good packing done!!! The girls keep asking me when they can go back again! They made necklaces, jumped on the trampoline, played outside, cut-out, decorated & baked cookies and played dress-up (just to name a few)...

They had such a great time and we really appreciated the day, thanks again Miller Family!!!

Trading NC for GA...

Today our friends Eric & Erin Miller are leaving good ole' North Carolina for their home state of Georgia. We met them about 5 years ago when they started attending our church. Our friendship has grown as they became very involved in our youth & childrens ministries! We are so thankful to have gotten to know them and serve beside them! God has so much in store for this couple! The girls absolutely love Ewic & Ewin (Lizzy) and we will all miss them terribly :-( We look forward to keeping up with them on their blog and heading south to visit them!

Yummy for the Tummy

Strawberry Amaretto Pastries....they sound delicious right? I've made this recipe for a few friends and a lot of people have requested it, so I thought where better to post than our blog!!! This is a Pampered Chef recipe, so if you don't have the specific kitchen utensils mentioned it's ok to use whatever you have! This a great summer recipe and perfect because strawberry season is upon us! Click here to be directed to the recipe page! I started to write out all the ingredients and directions, but the post was really long :-(

Sweet Sisters

meets the first Monday night of the month for fellowship, food, and fun! All ladies (young and old) are invited from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at our church. We learn new things, share stories, and enjoy “girlie stuff." This month's theme was Gardening Tips, I am not a gardener so this was a great one to come back after having Jack! I kill basically every plant that is given to me (not for lack of trying) and I learned so much in the hour we were there! It was a great time of fellowship with ladies, young and old! Now we'll see if I have a beautiful garden with all the information I absorbed, I took a whole page of notes too!!!

Yard Sale, Preaching, VW show & World Changers...

Yes we accomplished all of the above (except Jody did the preaching) this weekend!

Saturday we had a yard sale to get rid of a lot of "stuff" we have accumulated over the years in preparation of our move in the next few weeks! The girls surprisingly have been very helpful in going through their old toys and
clothes to give to other little girls who aren't as fortunate. Jody and I were also able to donate a lot of our things to those in need!

Sunday Jody preached at our church
for our Pastor who was out of town, he really enjoys preaching given the opportunity! After church we headed to meet Jody's dad in Farmington, NC for a Volkswagen show! Pictured is one of one Jody's favorites. This has become an annual event for the two VW enthusiasts! Jody's dad lives in Tennessee so it's kind of a half-way point too! Although the girls and I enjoy going to the shows, we were able to spend time with a friend and her little girl while Jody was at the show! That evening Jody had an opportunity to speak at a church for a World Changers event coming up this summer!

The weekend was great, busy and fun spent with family, our church family and old friends!

A Laugh for Monday

Emma had a recent AWANA project where she had to find a missionary, gather information about them and tell her leader about it during Sparks. She decided on Annie Armstrong (read her story here) since it was close to Easter. Anna and Lizzy were arguing about who Annie Armstrong was and Lizzy finally decided Annie Armstrong was HER friend. I of course had to explain that Annie Armstrong wasn't with us anymore, so Lizzy decided anytime we mentioned Annie Armstrong to say "Annie Armstrong is my friend....No she dead" :-)

Top Five

...reasons why I love my suburban.
1. Space. Fits our family of 6, double stroller, 2 weeks of groceries still with 2 seats available!
2. BIG. Sits tall, I feel safe!
3. Leather. Great for kid spills...adult spills too!
4. Heated seats. Perfect for chilly days or a sore back!
5. Remote start. During the winter warms your car or during the summer cools it down!!!

THEO

became a member of the Goodew family a few months ago. My youngest brother Josh wanted a puppy of his own and here he is...
Theo is a Brindled Cane Corso Mastiff...yes he is still a puppy! Josh recently weighed him and he was just under 100 lbs...I believe they estimate him getting up to 140 lbs!!!
He is sweet but sure doesn't know his size, here he is sitting on Josh's "lap"! I threw some pictures of him and Lizzy in a chair so you could see how big he actually is!
