10 years later...

1998 Friends

2008 Friends

Anna colored all over the top picture with a pen...sorry for the bad quality, but I thought everyone would get a kick out of the old us and new improved us! We unfortunately weren't able to get together with our old buddy Becky who is also pictured!

What am I talking about you ask?! This past weekend was my 10 year highschool reunion, BTW...I graduated from Garner Senior High School (Garner, NC)! There is some discrepency of how many we actually graduated with but I believe it was somewhere around 350! We decided not to go to the actual gathering on Saturday for a number of reasons, but we got together with a few old friends, ate dinner then went to the football game Friday night! We had a good time catching up with my good friends from highschool Melissa Autry (Chadwell), Amanda Willis (Satterfield) and our husbands! We also were able to see a few people from highschool that we recognized. Funny how you spend years with the same people and 10 years later can't remember their names! Here are a few pictures Melissa took at the game...

September 24th...

Today is Jody's Birthday!!! I wish I had a baby picture to post on here, but we don't have any pictures of him when he was younger. Here are some favorite pictures of him with us! He is finally the same age as me...he called me "old lady" last night, one last time! Wish him a Happy Birthday if you see him today, call him, text him or write on his facebook wall!

He's 28 today in case you are wondering!!! Here are some other cool stats: he was born in Las Vegas, Nevada @ 3pm, weighing 7lb 9oz & was 21 inches long!

Does she really like human flesh?

We are beginning to wonder if our youngest 2 year old (since both Lizzy and Anna are 2 right now) likes the taste of human flesh! Lizzy being the smallest has decided that "biting" is the best option to get what she wants from her sisters. Today she has broken the record (at 4pm and the day isn't over) and bitten 3 times, 2 to poor little Anna and 1 to Emma. This past weekend she surpassed her total record, I can count the bites from looking at her poor sisters bruises on their arms and legs! Wherever we go I feel the need to explain why Anna has bruises in the shape of a cirle all over her for fear someone will think it was Jody or I! We have tried almost everything (the almost is the one thing we haven't tried that will work) to get her to stop and luckily she has only bitten her sisters, Jody and I. We've tried spanking, putting her in timeout, I even resorted to biting her back, but she only laughed. She knows what she did was wrong because shortly after we hear a scream of "Lizzy bit me" we hear "Sorry, Anna" (even if it's Emma because she's gotten so used to saying sorry to Anna). Does anyone else have any suggestions from another "chain-biter"? Any advice Anna & Emma would greatly appreciate!

Maternity Belt

You are probably thinking something really cute to wear around your waist...but then you remember (if you've been pregnant) that you have no waist and it wouldn't look all that cute if you did wear a belt! I've been having a lot of pain and pressure in areas that usually don't start hurting until late in my previous pregnancies. Now, I know what you are saying....it comes with the territory, blah blah blah. But this is my 4th baby (5th pregnancy), plus I am only 24 weeks pregnant and I think I have a handle on most things that are supposed to hurt at this point and what is abnormal, so I called to see if I needed to be checked out. The conclusion: they think my muscles are just worn/stretched out and are not holding things in place like they should thus the pain and pressure down south. They gave it a name, but of course I couldn't remember (pregnancy brain). They suggested me trying to lay down more (yeah right) and to try a maternity belt. Now, I am not usually one for just going out and buying things to try, but I was in a lot of pain (both the front and back of my legs) Monday afternoon so I decided to drive to Motherhood and buy this so called "maternity belt". The thing actually worked, who would have thunk it? There are some draw backs, you have to have it positioned just right to relieve the pressure and it does move around a lot, but when I'm doing dishes or cooking it really helps. It is basically an elastic belt that has velcro that holds up your uterus. I will not take a picture with it on because it looks silly and it is for use under your clothes!
Here is a picture of one they sell at Babies'R'Us, the Motherhood picture had a real preggo that showed too much skin. Just thought some of you veteran moms might want to check it out if you are having some similar issues! You can buy it at Babies'R'Us, Motherhood, Target, JCPenny, most stores except WalMart carry them! They vary in price, I found Motherhood was the cheapest!

Do I look different???

So there is always a debate in our house over hair, all girls hair as a matter of fact. Jody is like most guys (I think) and likes long hair rather than shorter hair on me and the girls. I've always pretty much kept my hair long because he likes it, but lately it's been up in a ponytail or other weird "knots" as the girls call it. When it stays up all the time I know it's time for a haircut. I finally went to a local salon and got it cut, not as short as I wanted it, but shorter and more manageable. Hair is hair to me and it will grow back, mine grows so quickly that I usually get used to a style and it has to be cut again. When both Jody and I were working full-time we were able to afford me going to the salon and having it highlighted and cut, but not anymore! I just think there are other more important things in our life now rather than spending money on hair! It's funny, but only a few people have noticed I got my hair cut, but I realized it's probably because no one has seen my hair down in a while to actually see how long it was! I didn't have the lady measure how much she cut off but you can see from the pictures it was quite a bit!

Before & After...I took some pictures with our regular camera, but it has went missing:-( The pictures aren't very good, but you get the point!

TAGGED

Ok, so our pastor and his wife recently were tagged...6 things that were unspectacular about themselves...Jody and I laughed and laughed so we thought, hey let's do it too!

6 unspectacular things about Jody:
1. loves VW's, the older the better.
2. would rather be in the woods.
3. is bald by choice.
4. can do lots of magic tricks.
5. hates coffee.
6. companies shut down after employing him (not his fault...really).

6 unspectacular things about Sarah:
1. sucker for a sale, can we say Target clearance!
2. hates the smell of outside.
3. has to eat colored candy in even numbers as well as matching colors...the bottom of the bag is very stressful!
4. breaks toes often (not a calcium deficiency).
5. loves coffee.
6. won 6th grade spelling bee for my school, lost in the county spelling bee on the word carage...I mean carige...carriage (sp?)

Everyone who reads this has to respond in the comment section with 6 unspectacular things about yourself...I promise no matter how unspectacular you think you are, someone thinks you are spectacular!!!

Belly Shot of baby #4

So my very good friend Jessica requested a recent belly shot. I personally don't like pregnancy shots of myself, but the girls love to look back at them and see that they were in mommy's belly and how big it was and it's pretty funny to see pregnant ladies and how they change during pregnancy! So I figured I'll take one for the team. Jess lives in Florida and we don't get to see each other very often...So this is for you Jess...beware I don't have any make-up on :-(22 weeks 3 days pregnant, 4th baby (5th pregnancy)

It's been a pretty uneventful pregnancy so far. The only issue I've had has been with horrendous heartburn lately...guess the baby has a ton of hair! I am still in the negative as far as weight gain, but I was really sick until 16 weeks. My doctors don't seem very worried about my weight so I'm not either! The baby and I are measuring right on target, my next check-up is the glucose test. That's about it.

The girls love for me to read and show them how big the baby is in my pregnancy week by week book. Jody felt the baby "kick" for the first time last week! The girls have yet to feel it kick, but are always putting their hands on my belly, kissing my belly and talking to the baby! They are so excited to "play" with the baby when "it comes out"!

Football, Falling and Phone Drama but FUN

I almost forgot to post about our eventful weekend!
Saturday my mom got us free tickets to the Duke Football game, she is a Duke Health Raleigh Hospital (previously known as Raleigh Community) Employee. I am not a Duke Football fan normally, I am a Tennessee Vols football fan by marriage.
GO VOLS

The Duke pictures above are just for decoration since the real pictures are stuck on my broken cell phone! The festivities started at 4:00pm with a buffet dinner, face painting, moon bounces and a parade all before the 7:00pm kick-off. It was really hot and we were all sticky as we headed down to the stadium. Jody, myself and Lizzy stood in line for snacks while my parents sat in the stands with Emma & Anna, we realized as it started to rain that we had the rain ponchos with us...we were all drenched but welcomed the cooling rain! I was trying so hard to keep the popcorn dry that I slipped and fell straight on my "booty" (tailbone) going down the stairs to my seat and dumped all but 7 kernels of popcorn. I was a mess as I handed my mom her popcorn, laughing, crying, all the while rain pouring down! The lightning started and we decided it wasn't such a good idea to sit on the metal bleachers...just as the announcer stated we were under a weather delay. My dad had decided when I had the "popcorn incident" to go with Lizzy to get more popcorn so now we were on a mission amongst the large crowd to find my dad & Lizzy. Jody decided to look up the doppler radar on his phone to see what kind of weather we were looking at...there was a severe thunderstorm warning as well as a flash flood warning! We decided that was the end of our Duke football experience and boy were we glad we left because there was an hour and a half weather delay and the game didn't get over until close to midnight! I took pictures during the day but of course they are on my cell phone which is broken because I had it in my hand during the rain storm...we'll see if the people at Verizon can get them back?!
Sunday morning I got up and finished Lizzy's birthday cake (I had baked all the pieces the day before it just needed to be assembled). Lizzy absolutely loves airplanes lately so of course I couldn't really find anything that was a girly airplane theme. I also couldn't find an airplane cake pan so I decided to make an airplane cookie with a large cloud behind it with Happy Birthday Lizzy in the cloud and a house for effect. As we were walking out the door to church I realized there was something seriously wrong with her cake, the picture to the right is what I saw,
notice Lizzy's name....Both Emma & Lizzy were standing right next to me when I realized the missing piece, the search was on for Anna. Jody found her under her covers yelling "I didn't eat the Y"!!! She proceeded to show Jody it wasn't in her mouth, but the green mouth & tongue were dead giveaways coupled with green sprinkles all around her lips! I snapped a picture of her post discipline and crying, you can't really see the evidence from the picture, she always manages to pose for a picture?! Right after church we had a family birthday party at Blue Jay Point...(we wanted to celebrate very simply this year) where we ate pizza, chips and pop (soda as you southerners call it) the girls played with bubbles, with cousins and on the playground. Lizzy opened her presents and it began to thunder....party over, we left the park with about 1 minute to spare and it started pouring! All in all it was an eventful weekend of Football, Falling and Phone drama but FUN!!!

Lizzy's Fun Day

Yesterday we spent the day celebrating Lizzy's 2nd Birthday! My mom, sister-in-law Diana, baby Ashtyn and my girls all went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen at Triangle Towne Center for a yummy lunch, we had a fun with all the girls!!! We then headed to Pullen Park...my parents took the girls a few weeks ago and they loved it, it has now become a favorite! The girls rode the carousel, train and played on all the playgrounds before my mom suggested ice cream! We got our sundaes and ended the day by meeting my dad and Jody for dinner in Raleigh! All in all I believe Lizzy had a great day, thanks Wanka, Papa, Aunt Diana & "baby Ashtyn" (that's what the girls call her) for making her day special! We can't wait to see what life will bring our little fireball Lizzy!!! I put together a slide show of pictures we took of Lizzy's Brithday Fun and added it to the top of this page...

Our baby is 2...

Just a mere 2 years ago our 3rd baby girl was born! She came into this world at 5:07am weighing 6lb and 4oz, 19 3/4 inches long...she's come a long way from that "lil bit" as daddy called her at that first meeting!!!
Happy 2nd Birthday Lizzy!
We had a very exciting and fun-filled day (I'll post pictures tomorrow when I'm not so tired)! Thank you to everyone who called and sent messages to our little Lizzy!!! There was some kind of power outage this morning and this is the first time I've been able to get on the internet to post!
