Our Little Sweeties

Here are some "tuckered out" shots of Anna & Lizzy, we had been gone all day and they were so tired! They fell asleep in the van and when we got home we laid them on the floor so we could get everything out of the van and get jammies on them! They didn't move a muscle from their positions, even during putting their jammies on! So sweet when they are asleep!

Emma's not so much ear infection

Emma was "out of sorts" yesterday. My mom & Dad took the girls for a while and they even noticed it! She woke up at around 12:00 last night crying and grabbing her ear. Took her temperature and it was within normal range, so I gave her some motrin (for her ear pain) and sent her back to bed. She woke up a few more times each time frantically grabbing her ear and crying uncontrollably. Jody was going skiing with our church and had to leave the house at 3:00am, Emma was already awake and stayed awake!!! Finally 8:30am arrived and I called her peciatrician and off we went. We got to the doctors office and Emma explained her problems (she's a big girl now), they did the standard weight check, listen to lungs, pulse, blood pressure, etc. Then the doctor took a look at her ears and said there is a lot of fluid but they weren't infected? I was surprised, but said OK. She did however say she had bronchitis and was wheezing quite a bit?! I was totally surprised, how had I missed that? Emma did have a bad cold a few weeks ago, then she got better. I remember a week or so ago she got another cold, but this time it was just a nasty cough. I had been giving her cough suppressant medicine and totally missed it! They gave her a breathing treatment right away, listened to her lungs and she was much better. They gave us a prescription for a Z-pack plus medicine to continue breathing treatments for the next few days! I'm hoping she will bounce back to her normal self soon! Talk about feeling like a great mom! Did I mention Jody is in West Virginia Snow Boarding. . .

A Cupcake Decorating Party???

We (the girls and I) went to a cupcake decorating party Monday afternoon! What a great idea right??? We gathered together with a few moms and their children and had a blast decorating cupcakes and playing with friends!!! It was a windy day outside but the girls had fun and enjoyed their decorating experience! Thanks Mrs. Julie, Nicholas & Ethan for having us over!!! I think I might have to steal the idea for future use. . .

Birthday. . .

I woke up this morning to this. . . (Remember this is NC)

and this. . .

snow, a teething Lizzy & breakfast in bed (no picture, it was still dark outside)! Jody got up before he had to leave for work (he has to leave before 7:00am), he and Emma made me pancakes, muffins and coffee in bed! Emma made me a card too, she's so sweet! I was so tired when he came in at 6:45am since we had been up a lot during the night with Lizzy! She got 1 tooth in last night and we are very close to another! She's cutting her canine teeth and she is miserable :-( Mom and Dad are taking me out for my birthday tonight and the rest of my family is getting together Sunday after church! I'll get some pictures of the girls in their Valentines Day shirts, they are so cute and it seems like a waste to only wear them 1 day out of the year!!!

Steel Toed Boots

So I had to put this on the blog. . .Jody we think broke his little toe (right foot) Sunday afternoon. He is always making fun of me and my Klutziness so when I was a witness to this injury, I had to gloat!!! Here's the story, he mis-judged how far away the ottoman was and went to step over it, when "crack". He fell on the floor, face first, caught by his hands luckily, because he lost his balance and was like, "I think I broke my toe. . .did you hear it pop"? I immediately said "NO", so as not to add fuel to the fire, when in actuality who didn't hear it pop in the house??? It immediately swelled up and started turning lovely shades of purple and red. He went to put on his tennis shoes for church Sunday night and couldn't even get them on!? When we woke up yesterday morning it looked awful and was very painful, I could tell. I took a picture so I could document the injury and tell the world! Now I can finally say to him, "I'm gonna buy you steel toed boots for your birthday" which is what he tells me all the time!
I do also have to say he did not want me to take a picture of his foot, Hee-Hee-Hee! Doesn't he have hairy feet??? Let's hope the girls don't inherit those feet!!!

Pajama & Slipper Night

Wednesday nights we have AWANA at our church. Last Wednesdays' AWANA theme was pajama & slipper night! It is probably my favorite theme night because I can wear them out in public! Who wouldn't want to go to church in their PJ's and slippers??? This was a quick shot of the girls and I before AWANA! The best part is when we got home all we had to do was put the girls in bed!!!

Growth Charts

So now that I know the girls approximate weight, I was curious to see their heights and where they fell on the growth chart. So I measured them and plotted them on the growth chart. Now these are just estimates because I (who am not a doctor) did all the measurements. But here are the girls stats as of today. . .for curiosity sake:
Emma (5 years)
44 inches tall - 80%
43 pounds - 75%
Anna (28 months)
34 inches tall - 30%
28 pounds - 50%
Lizzy (17 months)
29 inches tall - 5%
24 pounds - 50%
I just thought it was interesting to see that all three girls are different on the charts! We'll see their actual measurements in the next few weeks when Emma goes for her 5 year check-up and Lizzy for her 18 month check-up!

Cheerleaders!

Today we went to our first High School Cheerleading Competition! One of our youth, Lauren cheers for Wake Forest Rolesville High School's Varsity squad. The girls love cheerleading and this was Lauren's last competition since she graduates this year :-( so we decided to go and cheer her on! The girls loved it and were awe-struck at the number of cheerleaders! They had a blast cheering on Lauren, and her team got 3rd place! I forgot my camera and these were taken by Lauren's dad, Mr. Ronnie!
